Movie Releases: Friday March 20th

THE GREAT BUCK HOWARD:

- SYNOPSIS: When a law school dropout answers an advertisement to be a personal assistant he unknowingly signs on to work for a belligerent has-been magician struggling to resurrect his career. This leads to a journey across the country staging the comeback of a lifetime.

You can usually expect a good performance from John Malkovich and although this film doesn't pop out at me it's been getting good reviews all around. If anyone catches it let me know how it is.

HUNGER:

- SYNOPSIS: The film stars Michael Fassbender as Bobby Sands, the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) (Bobby Sands was not a member of the IRA he was a member of the Irish National Liberation Army but acted with the IRA as part of a broader Irish Republican movement within the Long Kesh prison where this movie occurs) member who led the 1981 Irish hunger strike and participated in the no wash protest (led by Brendan "The Dark" Hughes) in which Republican prisoners tried to win political status. It dramatises events in the Maze prison in the six weeks prior to Sands death.

Just looks like a really solid flick, definitely covers an interesting true story. Director Steve McQueen is a well known artist and seems like he pulled off his first directing project. It also won Best Debut Feature at last year's Cannes Festival.

I LOVE YOU, MAN:

- SYNOPSIS: As his wedding day approaches, Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd) realizes he has no one to act as his best man. Through a series of ''man-dates,'' he finds Sydney Fife (Jason Segel), and the pair become instant friends. But as Peter's ''bro-mance'' with Sydney grows stronger, it threatens his relationship with his fiancee (Rashida Jones), forcing Peter to make a choice.

This doesn't come off all that funny to me, but I have faith in Paul Rudd and Jason Segel they are usually hilarious. The premise is pretty original also and it's rated R which is a good sign. I'm down!
